Amazon Black Friday – the complete strategy to win the deals, savings, and discounts!
How to prepare for Amazon Black Friday
It’s time to put together your Ultimate Amazon Black Friday Strategy! In this article, you are going to learn exactly how to master Amazon Black Friday shopping so you can snag all those deals and items off your holiday shopping list! Some of these deals go REALLY fast and the products can sell out in a matter of minutes! If you’re prepared, you can make the most out of this ideal shopping time.
When is Black Friday?
Black Friday in the USA is officially November 24, 2017. However, as you are probably well aware by now, many retailers have begun to offer black Friday deals earlier in the week.
Amazon does something called Countdown to Black Friday which is a “Deal of the Day” page on their site with flash sales and deals beginning November 1st. You’ll notice that many of the deals on the page are only available for a matter of hours. These deals are to get you excited and ready for the Black Friday deals.
We aren’t sure exactly what day or time the official Countdown to Black Friday deals will begin, but we’ve already seen “Deal of the Day” items available on the site. I highly encourage you to bookmark the website in your browser for easy access to check daily deals. Here is the link.
Consider getting Amazon Prime
If you already pay for Amazon Prime you’re all set. If you don’t have Amazon Prime and you don’t want to pay for it don’t worry… You can get a free one month trial here. This is important not only for the free 2-day shipping, Amazon movies and streaming, music, and unlimited photo storage, but also because Prime members will get early access to black Friday deals. You can always use the Prime membership for the holiday shopping season and cancel afterwards.
If you decide not to get the free trial of Amazon Prime to use for black Friday shopping, you can expect most items to ship in 5-8 business days. Amazon does offer free shipping on orders over $25 for qualifying items. Target and Best Buy are offering free shipping on all orders with no minimum during Black Friday and the remainder of the holiday season, so they are a great option if you are going to be ordering smaller quantities.
Prime Early Access Deals
On the Countdown to Black Friday shopping screen, you’ll see in the navigation bar some different options under Deal Type. I wanted to make you aware of these options so you can look into the Prime deals if you you are a Prime member.
It’s a good idea to check these Prime Early Access Deals and the other deals available as these items can tend to offer very significant discounts and savings, and some of these items sell out in a matter of minutes.
Amazon will discount their products
One thing you can expect is that Amazon owned products like the Echo Devices, Kindle tablets, and Fire TV will be heavily discounted and there should be plenty of inventory in stock so I wouldn’t worry too much about these devices running out… However, if you are considering buying one of these devices, this is definitely the time!
Plan ahead for upcoming deals
Once again on the Countdown to Black Friday screen in the navigation menu bar you’ll see an option to select the availability. I suggest looking at only upcoming deals every few hours so you can see what deals are coming up so you can plan ahead.
Set an alarm on your phone, or create a reminder so you can be ready for the deals you have your eye on. Like I said, some of these products will sell out in a matter of minutes.
Here’s the Strategy
- Get Amazon Prime. If you already have it great. If not, consider the free trial and cancel when you’re finished with your holiday shopping.
- Know your dates. Black Friday is November 24th, but deals have already started and many of the bigger deals will probably begin the week of Thanksgiving. Check back on the Countdown to Black Friday for updates.
- Update your payment options. Make sure your payment cards in your Amazon account are in good standing. A payment processing problem could mean you miss out on a deal.
- Check the Prime Early Access and Lightning Deals. These will likely be the biggest discount offers and the best chance of getting them. Lightning deals will come and go quickly.
- Prepare for upcoming deals. Use the deals option in the menu on the Countdown to Black Friday screen to only see upcoming deals so you know what to plan for.
Remember you can bookmark your links in your web browser if you want, so that you can quickly come back to them later during shopping, or the check for deals.
I’ll be posting some updates and info on deals and other things on our Facebook Page so you can follow us on there if you want to get some updates on what’s going on for shopping this holiday season!
