Learn How Video Instructions
In this video, I’m going to explain how our tutorial videos are organized.
I’m also going to explain a few important features for those who are just getting started with an iPhone.
If you are already familiar with your iPhone, then this will be a great review for you.
These “Learn How” tutorial videos, are going to look very similar to the video you are watching right now.
First let’s cover some important features of the iPhone in general.
Most of our videos apply to the software of the iPhone, not the hardware, so as long as you keep your iOS updated, these videos should apply to users of the iPhone 5, 6, or 7. This includes S and plus versions, such as, the iPhone 6s or 7 Plus.
You should be able to follow along exactly as seen on the screen no matter what version of iPhone you have.
Now let’s cover some iPhone terminology.
In our videos we will show an iPhone screen here on the left side so you can follow along and see exactly what we’re doing.
This is the lock screen. It’s the screen you see when your iPhone is locked. When your screen is off, you can press the lock screen button, or the home button to view your lock screen.
Newer iPhones have fingerprint technology which can be used to unlock your screen. you can also set up a passcode to unlock your screen. We will cover this topic more in another video.
After unlocking your screen, you are taken to the Home Screen. This is where you access your Apps.
If you slide up from the base of the iPhone using one finger at any time, you can access the control center. Tapping any where off the control center will close it.
We will frequently reference the lock screen, home screen, and control center in our videos. So make sure you are familiar with those terms.
The other feature or App we will frequently use is the Settings app. In our videos, we have moved the settings app to a screen by itself so you can easily see what we’re doing.
Your screen may not look exactly like ours. That’s ok. Apps can be moved around and organized however you’d like. If you don’t know how to move your apps around don’t worry, we’ll be doing a video later to show you how.
For now, just make sure you can locate your settings app.
Let’s review what we’ve talked about:
