How to Activate Low Power Mode
Your smart phone battery life can be difficult to predict. There are many factors that affect your battery life including: screen brightness, data usage, and app usage. Some research has shown that on average, low power mode gives you about 30% more battery life throughout the day depending on usage.
To activate low power mode, open your settings app.
Scroll down slightly and tap Battery.
The first option on the screen is Low Power Mode. Tap the white circle to activate. When the icon is green, the setting is activated.
You’ll notice that after activating low power mode, the battery icon in the top right hand corner of the screen turns yellow. If you charge your iPhone to 80% or higher, low power mode automatically turns off.
I used low power mode while at Disneyland with my wife. We were able to use the Disneyland app all day to check line times, take pictures, and text our family to let them know how much fun we were having. A dead phone battery at the end of the day can be a scary situation, especially if you’re traveling. If you’re traveling, using your phone frequently, and you know you won’t have access to a charger, low power mode is a great feature to get some extra battery life.
