How to Use iPhone Medical ID
This video is brought to you by Inspire More.
In this video, you’ll learn how to setup Medical ID on your iPhone. Medical ID allows first responders to access life saving medical information about you in case of an emergency.
Medical ID can save your life and has already saved the lives of others.
To enable Medical ID, open the Apple Health app on your iPhone.
At the bottom right of the screen tap Medical ID
On this screen, tap Create Medical ID.
To allow emergency access, make sure that “Show When Locked” is enabled.
Now you can edit your personal medical information in the fields below.
You can list medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes, arthritis, heart disease, cancer, alzheimers, or any other conditions you may have.
You can also add notes, allergies, and current medications you may be taking.
The bottom options allow you to select your blood type, organ donor status, weight and height, and an emergency contact number.
When you’re finished, tap done at the top of the screen.
Medical ID information can be accessed from the lock screen by tapping the home button. When the passcode verification appears, tap Emergency, then tap Medical ID. You can also find the information in the health app, in the same place we showed earlier, if the phone is unlocked.
Medical ID could save your life, or the life of someone you love. Enabling this feature could give a first responder, or emergency medical technician the vital information they need to save your life before it’s too late!
