What Your Facebook Profile Looks Like to Strangers
In this video, you’ll learn how to see what your Facebook profile looks like to a stranger.
Anyone on Facebook has the ability to search and click on your personal profile. Depending on your privacy settings, they may be able to see your posts, friends list, photos, and other information about you. Every once in awhile, it’s a good idea to see what your profile looks like to a complete stranger, so you can update or change your privacy settings accordingly.
In order to do this, you’ll need to sign-in to Facebook using a computer web browser. After you have signed into Facebook on your computer, go to your profile page by clicking on your name in the top bar of the screen. Right now you have access to all of your profile information because you’re signed in as yourself.
To view your profile as a stranger, click the 3 dots next to “View Activity Log” and then click “View As…”
You can close the little tip box in the top left by clicking OK.
Now you are viewing your profile as the public sees it. This means that if a random stranger clicked on your Facebook profile, everything you see now is what they would be able to see. After doing this on your own profile, you might be surprised by how much of your profile is visible to the public! Don’t worry!
You can also click “View as Specific Person” and type in a Facebook friend’s name to see what your profile looks like to one of your Facebook friends.
